We have always believed that the beauty of animation is in its ability to take you to any time or place in the universe. Naturally, we were absolutely thrilled when we were approached by Ladbible to create the backdrops for their new 'Fantasy Road Trip' series, a collaboration with Toyota Yaris.
We used a combination of 3d elements, 2d motion designed characters and matte-painted backgrounds.
The studio was set up with three screens, each with its own animated video, in order to create the illusion of movement. The Toyota Yaris was placed on a treadmill in the center.
Each film started and ended in a city, with each celebrity choosing their fantasy location. In order to get them there, we used a vortex scene.
Six films were created in total, which are currently still being released.
